Hereford earn replay with good display

Leeds marked their first appearance in the 1st round of the FA cup with a 0-0 draw against Hereford. Wise made several changes to his squad. Huntington, Parker, Weston and Howson replaced Richardson, Hughes, Prutton and Clapham. Leeds started brightly with Howson coming close while Trevor Benjamin threatened at the other end. Theo Robinson also tested Casper Ankergren early on. The game was played at great pace with Hereford putting most of the pressure on. Leeds then started to press and Seb carole caused problems with is pace. Leeds started to enjoy being in control of the game, Beckfords overhead kick didn't trouble the keeper. Jonathan Douglas was the next to try is luck with the keeper saving comfortably. Tresor Kandol had the last chance of the half after he latched onto a long ball but Brown saved with ease.

The second half started with the host coming close. Leeds replied instantly with Douglas and Carole coming close. On the hour mark Douglas picked up his fourth booking of the season. 10 Minutes later Parker also was booked for bringing down Robinson. Wise then made an attacking change by introducing Da Costa with Weston making way. With 10 minutes left Ankergren made a very good save by denying Ainsworths close range header. With minutes left Wise made his second change, Constantine replaced Kandol. In the dying minutes Hereford pressed and went for the winning goal but Leeds defended solidly.
The final score ended 0-0 so there will be a replay on Tuesday 20th November at Elland Road.
